In most cases these procedures are out of pocket expenses since cosmetic surgery is considered an elective procedure by insurance companies, so you need to know all of the costs up front.

Consider asking for a written breakdown of the total so that you can see everything that could be included. There may be additional costs such as: fees for the anesthesia, operating room, lab work, additional medications, compression garments, post-operative check-ups, etc.

Inquire about financing that may be offered, if you can make payments or if they expect the entire payment to be made up front. Also make sure that the cancellation policy is clear and written out. You’ll want to know what happens if you change your mind or if life issues delay the procedure. Do you get your money back or how does their refund policy work?
